Cyrus is one of the best halal restaurant in Oshawa to enjoy authentic Persian food. This place has been around for more than six years and they have gained quite a reputation for serving great food. The owners are lovely people. Hard workers! The food has a traditional aroma to it, and that’s what makes it unique. The meat is all Halal. They are open only four days a week and the restaurant normally shuts down around nine, so you better call before visiting.

Everything at Cyrus is always consistent and satisfying. There is always someone there to greet you with a smile, if not Cyrus himself, one of the helpful ladies definitely are. The taste is the same; brilliant and fresh every time you go there. Their Koobideh Kebab is an all time favorite dish which is made from ground beef and served with rice and salad on the side. The kebabs have just the right spice level you desire and they are soft and tender at the same time. Although, normally kebabs are either too soft to handle or too hard to bite elsewhere, but here at Cyrus, they are just perfect.

Their Lamb Shank is a must try. Seasoned with traditional Persian spices and served with yellow rice and salad. The salads served here are very fresh and crunchy which makes the dish a complete hit. Moreover, Cyrus is also famous for Shawarma and Falafel. Falafel is a deep-fried ball made of ground chickpeas which are mixed with special herbs, spices, and onions to create the best appetizer.

Conclusion

The owner is proud of his work and is very particular about each dish he serves to his customers. His passion is worth supporting, however, it is a must visit restaurant to enjoy amazing Persian food with your family. In addition, the prices here are reasonable and the portion sizes are pretty good too. A few complaints though – they get very busy. But perhaps, that is a good sign.
